Job summary

The Career Nest is partnering with an upscale dining destination in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, seeking a Junior Pastry Sous Chef to elevate the pastry section.

You will support the Head Pastry Chef, manage daily production from viennoiserie to plated desserts, and mentor the junior team.

English fluency is mandatory; knowledge of French or another European language is a plus, and deep pastry expertise is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of dedicated pastry experience in fine dining or upscale restaurants.
• Strong knowledge of viennoiserie, doughs, creams, chocolate work, and fillings.
• English fluency required; French or other European languages advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Execute classic and contemporary pastry techniques with precision and presentation.
• Lead and mentor the pastry team in busy services when Head Pastry Chef is absent.
• Plan daily production, manage shelf life, FIFO, labeling, freezing/defrosting.
• Ensure hygiene, quality, and safe workspace compliant.
• Monitor stock, portions, and minimize waste while maintaining quality.
