Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Field Service Engineer in Saudi Arabia to lead on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of medium voltage motors and generators. You will diagnose failures, coordinate with customers, and deliver timely technical reports while upholding safety standards.

The role requires extensive travel (~80%), strong project-management skills, and hands-on experience with rotating equipment and AVR systems. A valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical preferred).
• 7+ years of field service with MV motors, generators and commissioning.
• Hands-on electrical testing and commissioning experience.
• Willingness to travel ~80% of the time.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work remotely as required.
• Prior field engineering and project management experience.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Experience with motors and generators.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrading of MV motors, generators, excitation & AVR systems.
• Respond to emergency repairs and services.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer personnel on installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer sites.
• Write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, prepare job status and time/expense reports.
• Provide leadership to skilled labor on customer sites.
• Maintain safety mindset to meet GE safety standards.
• Prepare timely technical reports for customer records and future outages.

Job description

• Perform on-site installation, Commissioning, refurbishment, Startup, Maintenance, Trouble Shooting & Upgrading of Medium Voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation & AVR systems.
• Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer’s sites.
• Writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheets and expense sheets on a complete, timely, and thorough basis.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
• Maintain strong safety mindset to ensure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.
• Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (Electrical Engineering preferred)
• Minimum 7 years of field service experience with medium voltage motors, generators, excitation systems, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
• Hands on experience in electrical testing and commissioning of electrical rotating machines and drives systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time, as required
• Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Ability and willingness to work remotely as required
