Job summary

Kerten Hospitality seeks a General Manager for The House Hotel Jeddah, a luxury property on Saudi Arabia's western coast. The GM will drive financial strategy, guest experience, and operational excellence, ensuring heritage preservation while delivering exceptional service.

The role requires strong leadership, 5+ years in luxury hospitality management, and fluency in English and Arabic is an advantage. Pre-opening experience is a plus, with opportunities for growth within a dynamic organisation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in the hospitality industry (luxury property).
• Proven track record of maintaining high service standards.
• Strong leadership and cost-control capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the hotel’s overall financial strategy, including budgeting and revenue management.
• Direct and coordinate major property initiatives, including capital projects and renovations.
• Align hotel operations with Owners and Kerten Hospitality vision.
• Craft and implement guest experiences that highlight the property's heritage.
• Supervise maintenance and upkeep to preserve heritage and uniqueness.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Act as liaison between hotel management and owners for alignment and compliance.
• Oversee adherence to operational standards and policies.

About The Role

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement the hotel’s overall financial strategy, including budgeting, revenue management, and cost control.
• Direct and coordinate all major property initiatives, including capital projects, renovations, and customer service improvements.
• Strategically align the operations of the hotel with the vision of the Owners and Kerten Hospitality.
• Direct the crafting and implementation of unique guest experiences that highlight the property's heritage.
• Supervise the maintenance and upkeep of the hotel, ensuring its uniqueness and heritage are preserved.
• Ensure the hotel's operations are compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements, focusing on health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Act as the primary liaison between hotel management and owners, ensuring alignment and compliance with all agreements.
• Oversee and ensure compliance with operational standards and policies, maintaining the highest level of service quality.

Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree preferred. Diploma in hotel management, hospitality, is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in management within the hospitality industry in a luxury property with a proven track record of maintaining high standards of service.
• Strategic mindset and analytical skills to anticipate market trends, identify business opportunities, and make informed decisions that drive competitive advantage and business success.
• Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities to evaluate options, assess risks, and make informed decisions that align with the organization's goals and values.
• Pre-Opening experience is a plus.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership, training, and cost-control skills.
• Fluent in English and Arabic is an advantage.
