The Document Controller will provide the information control structure needed to keep a large multidisciplinary project organized, traceable, and audit-ready. The position will manage the movement of technical and administrative documentation from initial receipt through review, approval, revision, distribution, retrieval, handover, and final archive. The role will support Engineering, Design, Construction, Commercial, Planning, Project Controls, Procurement, QA/QC, HSE, consultants, contractors, and client teams by ensuring that current information reaches the correct stakeholders and that superseded, incomplete, duplicated, or incorrectly coded documents are identified before they create downstream project risk.
A diploma or bachelor 's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Engineering, Records Management, or another relevant discipline is preferred. Candidates should have at least two years of document control experience, preferably within construction, infrastructure, transportation, airports, buildings, engineering consultancy, or another major project setting. The successful candidate should understand document numbering, coding, revision control, transmittals, technical submittals, drawings, specifications, RFIs, correspondence, review workflows, and project archives. Hands-on experience with an Electronic Document Management System or Common Data Environment is important. Candidates should be comfortable processing high volumes of documentation while maintaining accuracy and traceability. A good understanding of engineering and construction workflows is required to recognize how documents move between disciplines and project stages. Experience following up on outstanding reviews, approvals, comments, and responses will be valuable. Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint capability is expected. Experience using Oracle Aconex, Asite, Procore, Microsoft SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, or similar platforms will strengthen suitability. Knowledge of ISO 19650 information management principles is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong organization, records management, communication, coordination, and administrative skills. The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive project information appropriately is essential. Good written and spoken English is required, while Arabic language capability will be an advantage.
