Job summary

Tecnimont Arabia Limited in Jubail, KSA, has awarded a major EPC scope for petrochemical expansion at SATORP Refinery. The role focuses on directing instrumentation activities within Derivatives Units and related HDPE logistics packages, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

You will lead subcontractors on site, oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, and contribute to the overall four-year project lifecycle with a strong emphasis on timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in EPC Oil & Gas projects/Refinery.
• Instrumentation engineering background with strong HSE awareness.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct subcontractor activities to meet erection schedules and project documents.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
• Prepare and sign site inspection certificates; manage non-conformities.
• Assist contract manager/engineer in defining prices and handling amendments/claims.
• Monitor progress and work to recover delays as needed.

Job Summary/ Role Description

Tecnimont andTecnimont Arabia Limited have been awarded two lump-sum turn-key EPCcontracts related to a petrochemical expansion at the SATORP Refinery (a JVcomposed of Saudi Aramco and Total Energies), in Jubail, Kingdom of SaudiArabia.

The overallvalue of the contracts is approximately USD 2 billion. The contracts relateto the execution of two packages of the complex, namely the “DerivativesUnits” package - which includes a butadiene extraction unit, an olefinextraction unit, a methyl tert-butyl ether unit, a butadiene selectivehydrogenation unit, a 2nd stage pygas hydrogenation unit and benzene &toluene extraction unit - and the “High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) &Logistic Area” package, which includes two polyethylene units and therelevant product logistic facilities.

The project’sscope of work entails complete engineering services, equipment and materialsupply, construction activities, pre-commissioning, and commissioning, andshall have a duration of approximately 4 years.

He/she directs subcontractor activities for his owndiscipline, ensuring that plant construction works are performed according to the erection schedules and project documents, within the assigned costbudget, and according to quality & safety procedures, as well asaccording to the terms and conditions of the subcontract.

Duties and responsibilities

• Prior to the start of works, to check thesupplier’s material and technical documentation delivery schedule.
• Check that the same is in line with constructionschedules and contractual commitments.
• Prior to the start of works, control and approve the method statements submitted by the subcontractors ensuring their correct application on the field.
• He/she ensures the implementation of all the HSEprocedures and standards for the areas or activities (subcontractors) ofresponsibilities.
• He/she directly participates to the HSEactivities at site as defined for his position in the site HSE plan andrelated procedures.
• To check that the said schedule is kept to, andto promote action to recover any delay.
• To check that the equipment and manpoweremployed by the subcontractor are adequate and that the works performedby the subcontractor conform to design documents, safety regulations,and to the quality level fixed by the same.
• Perform inspections and sign the necessarycertificates as per site inspection plans.
• To prepare the non-conformity register for each subcontractor and coordinate nonconformity resolution.
• To detect any design errors, and where possiblerectify the same or request the Site engineer to make the necessarychanges.
• To check Subcontractors’ work progress statussheets and sign the same for approval.
• To assist the contract manager/engineer indefining new prices, in preparing amendments to subcontracts and inanalyzing and discussing claims.

Experience
