Job summary

Experimental Cocktail Club Porto is opening in Porto's historic centre at the end of 2026. We seek a Bar Manager to run the cocktail and restaurant bars, delivering exceptional service, product quality and guest satisfaction.

You will lead the bar team, manage daily operations, develop the bar offering, and support financial performance. Strong cocktail knowledge and Portuguese/English fluency are essential.

Qualifications

• You have proven experience in a similar bar management role within a high-end cocktail bar, hotel or hospitality environment.
• You have strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage, motivate and develop a bar team.
• You have excellent knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines and other beverages, with a strong interest in industry trends and product development.
• You have a strong understanding of bar operations, sales, stock management and cost control.
• You are commercially minded, proactive and hands‑on, with excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• You communicate confidently in Portuguese and English (French or another language is a plus).
• You are comfortable using POS systems and have knowledge of other F&B management systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee the daily operation of the bar.
• Lead, supervise and monitor the bar team performance.
• Organize team schedules, shifts, holidays and daily task allocation ensuring smooth service.
• Coordinate with the F&B manager and the Restaurant supervisor to align bar and restaurant needs.
• Ensure an exceptional and personalized guest experience throughout the bar service.
• Prepare and serve cocktails and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Provide recommendations and promote products according to guest preferences and bar concept.
• Ensure the bar is properly set up and prepared for each service.
• Manage stock levels and ensure purchasing and replenishment procedures are followed.
• Coordinate special bar setups and operations for events and activities.
• Manage the bar's financial performance in line with objectives.
• Review supplier invoices and purchasing procedures.
• Lead by example with a knowledgeable, warm and genuine hospitality approach.
