Job summary
A primary school in Northland is seeking an enthusiastic Scale A teacher to join their team on a fixed term basis. The role focuses on teaching Year 2 and 3 learners, emphasizing strong positive relationships with students and their whānau. Ideal candidates will hold teacher registration and have experience with structured literacy and numeracy programmes. Qualifications
- Must have NZ teacher registration and a current practising certificate.

We are seeking a professional and enthusiastic junior teacher to join our team in a fixed term position starting Monday 2 February, 2026. This role is focused on teaching our Y2 and Y3 learners, and we place high value on ensuring a supportive and positive learning relationship for both our students and their whānau.
- Teach and support learners in Years 2 and 3 with a focus on building positive learning relationships.
- Plan, implement and assess programmes that cater for the individual learning needs of all students (differentiation).
- Collaborate with colleagues to support classroom practice and student outcomes.
- Must have NZ teacher registration and a current practising certificate.
- Experience with or knowledge of the structured literacy programme (BSLA) and the structured numeracy programmes (Numicon).
- Experience with using te reo Māori across the curriculum.
- Pedagogical strengths in literacy and numeracy.
- Successful experience working with students who have diverse learning needs.
- Enjoys a challenge, works collaboratively, and brings positive energy to the classroom.
- Values the importance of strong home-school partnerships.
