Job description

We’re on the lookout for a hands-on Solar installer to join our installation team.

This entry level role is all about supporting our qualified installers on site – helping with the safe mounting of solar panels, assembling hardware, running cables, keeping jobs running smoothly, and making sure sites are clean and tidy. You’ll be an important part of the crew, contributing wherever needed to get the job done right.

You’ll need to be comfortable working at heights and outdoors in all kinds of weather. Full safety training is provided.

Note this is not an electrician role and it is not intended to be a pathway for individuals looking for electrical apprenticeships or to work predominantly on the electrical side.

About You

We’re looking for someone practical, reliable, and keen to learn. You’ll fit right in if you’ve got:

  • 1+ years’ trade or site experience (solar experience an advantage, but not essential).
  • A good level of physical fitness and confidence with tools and working at heights.
  • A willingness to muck in across a variety of tasks to support the installation team.
  • A current full driver’s licence – regional travel and be prepared to have to stay away overnight (typically 1-4 nights per month).
  • A strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Reliability, teamwork, and an eagerness to learn new skills.

Why Join Us?

At Current Generation, we’re a local team helping homeowners and businesses take control of their energy with high-quality solar solutions. We value honesty, hard work, and looking after our people. You’ll gain on-the-job experience in the solar industry and be part of a supportive team that’s proud of the work we deliver.

Your Pathway

This role is an excellent entry point into the solar and electrical industries. As part of our team, you’ll have opportunities to:

  • Build practical skills in solar installation and system assembly.
  • Progress into Installer, Site Supervisor or Project manager roles as you gain experience.
  • Develop knowledge across both residential and commercial solar systems.
  • We’re committed to supporting team members who want to grow their careers and take on more responsibility in the renewable energy sector.

If this sounds like you, and you’re ready to get stuck in, we’d love to hear from you.
