Job description
Combined Veterinary Services - Mixed Practice Veterinarian - Gore
Organisation/clinic: Combined Veterinary Services
Location: Gore
Position type: Mixed Practice Veterinarian

Looking for a true mixed animal veterinary job? Love rural communities and getting to know your clients? Keen on Southland? Read on...

We are looking for an experienced mixed animal veterinarian (with large animal learnings) to join our independent team at Combined Veterinary Services. This could be a maternity cover position (a chance to see what this area of the country is like) or a permanent position.

Based in Gore, with a small satellite clinic in Heriot (West Otago), we currently have 5 full-time veterinarians that are committed to providing exceptional care to both our pets and large animals, along with good communication and some fun with our clients and colleagues along the way.

The workload is varied and does includes on call, with mainly dairy and sheep and beef farms, working dogs, pets and a little bit of work with some local cat rescues and life style animals. As a rural vet clinic, we are passionate about preventative health and growing quality stock, but also about our communities thriving. We like our clients, and also like being a small enough practice to know most of them by name.

Our ideal veterinarian would be someone who loves the variety that comes with a mixed practice position, enjoys people and learning, but most of all, fits well into our team. Team collaboration and special interests are encouraged and there is opportunity to become a shareholder for the right candidate.

Gore itself is a community with lots going on, but also have the added bonus of ski fields, lakes and other outdoor pursuits, along with Queenstown, Dunedin, and Invercargill within 2 hours drive.

If this sounds like you, and you would like to chat further, please contact Karen Nicholson at karen@cvsgore.co.nz or phone +64 22 015 5080. Alternatively contact the clinic or pop in to see us at 36 Hokonui Drive, Gore.
