We are a licensed Fund Management Company seeking an experienced Leader / Strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our dynamic team. This full-time role is based in our Kuala Lumpur City Centre office and involves driving operational excellence and overseeing daily operations of our funds management business.

1. Reporting directly to the CEO, providing strategic leadership to steer the company’s vision and growth.
2. Providing strategic direction across Operations, Finance & Accounting, Legal, and Information Management (IT) to ensure efficient service delivery.
3. Overseeing IT projects, ensuring timely execution and delivery.
4. Analyzing financial performance and offering strategic guidance for decision-making.
5. Managing critical stakeholders, including the board of directors and shareholders.
6. Developing and implementing operational policies, procedures, and systems to support growth.
7. Monitoring and processing fund management, unit trust, company accounts, and administration.
8. Collaborating with the investment team to optimize operational processes and support investment performance.
9. Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve client satisfaction.
10. Representing the operations function on the management team and contributing to strategic planning.
11. Mentoring and developing the operations team to foster a high-performance culture.
12. Participating in compiling the Company Business Plan and annual budget.

1. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a senior operations role within the funds management industry.
2. Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business, or related disciplines; professional qualifications like ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, CIMA, CFA, or CMSRL are advantageous.
3. Knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and fund management regulations (Securities Commission/Bursa Malaysia).
4. Understanding of investment products including equities, bonds, derivatives, and structured products.
5. Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams and external clients.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder management.
7. Strategic mindset with the ability to identify operational risks and opportunities.
8. Strong commercial acumen and collaboration skills across investment, finance, and compliance functions.
9. Experience in developing operational infrastructure and processes for company growth.
10. Ability to review and ensure consistency in policies and quality procedures.
11. Ability to liaise with regulators, auditors, brokers, banks, and industry associations.
