Financial Markets Ombudsman Service – Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur Career Opportunity at the Financial Markets Ombudsman Service (FMOS) The Financial Markets Ombudsman Service (FMOS) is seeking highly motivated, experienced, and qualified professionals to join our team as a Case Manager in Kuala Lumpur. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with expertise in dispute resolution, capital markets, banking, or insurance to contribute to an organization dedicated to upholding fairness and integrity in the financial markets sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations and assessments of disputes lodged by eligible complainants against financial service providers who are members of FMOS.
  • Analyse all available evidence, ensuring a thorough and impartial evaluation of each case.
  • Facilitate mediation between disputing parties in a fair, professional, and neutral manner to encourage amicable resolutions.
  • If mediation is unsuccessful, issue a well‑reasoned and appropriate recommendation based on the facts of the case, industry best practices, regulatory requirements and the principle of fairness and reasonableness.
  • Conduct research on legal issues and/or industry practices relevant to the cases handled.
  • Analyse cases to identify patterns and systemic issues within the financial and capital markets industries.
  • Contribute to FMOS awareness programs and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or any other relevant discipline.
  • Work experience handling motor and non‑motor insurance claims with a deep understanding of the insurance claims process, skilled in dispute assessment, investigations, and ensuring fair claim settlements in compliance with relevant laws, guidelines, industry standards, and market practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, deliver results within stipulated timelines.
  • A dynamic, outcome‑driven mindset with a commitment to fairness and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
