Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax Technology to lead tax platform projects and cross-functional initiatives. You will translate business and tax requirements into functional system specs for Vertex CoE, and collaborate with Tax Engineering, TAP, and Product teams.

The role emphasizes end-to-end delivery of tax features for new verticals and merchants, with data flows from upstream systems to downstream reporting, across US, Canada, and ANZ tax contexts.

Qualifications

• 6+ years indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• Experience with Vertex O Series or a similar tax engine.
• Ability to translate business and tax requirements into functional system requirements.
• Direct engagement with engineering teams on product development.
• Understanding of tax data flow from upstream systems through a tax engine to reporting.
• Project management experience with charter, plans, milestones, RAID log, and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform including new verticals and product launches.
• Gather requirements from TAP, Tax Product, and stakeholders and translate into functional requirements for Vertex CoE.
• Review BRDs, PRDs, and TDDs for tax-system implications and provide tax expertise.
• Define testing requirements and oversee validations across unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Trace tax-relevant data through Vertex to reporting and flag gaps or risks.
• Lead and develop offshore team, establish QA checkpoints, and transfer knowledge.
