Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax Technology to lead tax platform projects including new verticals, merchants, and product launches. You will translate business and tax requirements into functional system specs for the Vertex Center of Excellence and collaborate with Tax Engineering and Product teams.

You will drive end-to-end delivery across tax features, data flows, and compliance in the US, Canada, Australia and NZ contexts, coordinating offshore teams and ensuring production

Qualifications

• 6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• Experience with US sales and use tax, Canada GST/HST/PST, Australia and NZ GST.
• Experience implementing or configuring Vertex O Series or a similar tax engine.
• Translate business and tax requirements into functional system requirements.
• Direct engagement with engineering teams on product development.
• Understand how tax data flows from upstream systems to downstream reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform, including new vertical launches and merchant/product launches.
• Gather requirements from TAP, Tax Product, and stakeholders, and translate into tax-system functional requirements for Vertex CoE.
• Review BRDs, PRDs and TDDs for tax-system implications and provide functional tax input.
• Define testing requirements and oversee unit, integration, E2E, shadow, and post-launch validations.
• Trace tax-relevant data from upstream systems through Vertex to downstream reporting and flag gaps.
• Validate operational readiness for production releases and document post-launch lessons learned.
• Serve as a bridge between non-tax tech stakeholders and technical tax teams.
• Lead and develop the offshore team with QA checkpoints and knowledge transfer.
