Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax Technology to lead tax platform projects and new-vertical launches. You will translate business and tax requirements into functional specifications, collaborate across Tax Engineering, TAP, and Product, and guide the Vertex Center of Excellence to deliver compliant tax capabilities.

You will oversee testing, data flow validation from upstream systems through Vertex to downstream reporting, and ensure production readiness for launches.

Qualifications

• You have 6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• You are well versed in US sales and use tax, with Canada GST/HST/PST and ANZ GST exposure.
• Experience implementing or configuring Vertex O Series or a similar tax engine.
• You translate business and tax requirements into functional system requirements and review technical/design docs.
• You engage directly with engineering on product development and data flows.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform, including new verticals, merchant launches, and product launches.
• Gather requirements from TAP, Tax Product, and stakeholders, translating into tax-system functional requirements for Vertex CoE.
• Review BRDs, PRDs, and TDDs for tax implications and provide functional tax expertise to Engineering.
• Define testing requirements and oversee unit, integration, E2E, shadow, and post-launch validations.
• Trace tax-relevant data from upstream systems through Vertex to reporting, flag gaps or risks.
• Validate production readiness and document post-launch lessons learned.
• Serve as a bridge between non-tax tech stakeholders and tax technology teams.
• Lead and develop offshore team with QA checkpoints and knowledge transfer.
