Job summary

DoorDash seeks an experienced Manager, Tax Technology to lead tax platform and business projects, focusing on new verticals, merchants, and product launches. You will translate business and tax requirements into functional system specifications for the Vertex CoE and collaborate with Tax Engineering to ensure delivery.

The role requires 6+ years in indirect tax or tax technology, experience with Vertex O Series or similar engines, and strong project management skills.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• Experience with US sales and use tax; Canada GST/HST/PST; AU/NZ GST in food/beverage and retail contexts.
• Experience configuring Vertex O Series or a similar tax engine.
• Ability to translate business/tax requirements into functional system requirements.
• Direct engagement with engineering teams on product development.
• Understanding data flow from upstream systems through a tax engine to downstream reporting.
• Project management experience with charters, plans, milestones, RAID logs and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform, including new verticals and merchant/product launches.
• Gather requirements from TAP, Tax Product, and stakeholders; translate into tax-system functional requirements for Vertex CoE.
• Review BRDs, PRDs, and TDDs for tax implications and provide functional tax expertise to Engineering.
• Define testing requirements and oversee test validations across unit, integration, and post-launch phases.
• Trace tax-relevant data from upstream systems through Vertex to reporting; flag gaps or risks.
• Validate readiness for production and document post-launch lessons learned.
• Serve as a bridge between non-tax tech stakeholders and tax technology teams.
• Lead and develop offshore team with QA checkpoints and knowledge transfer.
