Job summary

DoorDash seeks an experienced Manager, Tax Technology to lead tax platform projects and new integrations across verticals, merchants, and product launches. You will translate business and tax requirements into functional specifications for the Vertex Center of Excellence, coordinating with Tax Eng, TAP, and Product teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• Strong knowledge of US sales/use tax; Canada GST/HST/PST; AU/NZ GST in tax context.
• Experience configuring Vertex O Series or a similar tax engine.
• Translate business and tax requirements into functional system requirements.
• Experience engaging with engineering on product development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets/Docs/Slides.
• Familiarity with AI productivity tools for processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/IT/CS.
• Demonstrated leadership or team-leading experience.
• Understanding of data flow from source systems to tax engine and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform.
• Gather requirements from TAP, Tax Product, and stakeholders and translate to functional tax specs.
• Review BRDs/PRDs/TDDs for tax implications and provide tax input to Eng.
• Define testing requirements and oversee validations across unit/integration/E2E/shadow/post-launch.
• Trace tax-relevant data from upstream systems through Vertex to reporting and flag gaps.
• Ensure production readiness and document post-launch learnings.
• Serve as a bridge between non-tax tech stakeholders and tax tech teams.
• Lead and develop the offshore team with QA checkpoints and knowledge transfer.
