This role sits at the intersection of tax, product, engineering, and the Vertex Center of Excellence to configure and test live capabilities. You will translate business and tax requirements into functional system specifications, lead cross-functional delivery, and develop a team while ensuring compliance across US, Canada, Australia

Qualifications

• 6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• Experience with US sales and use tax, Canada GST/HST/PST, and Australia/NZ GST.
• Experience implementing or configuring Vertex O Series or a similar tax engine.
• Ability to translate business and tax requirements into functional system requirements.
• Project management experience and leadership of cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform, including new vertical launches and merchant/product integrations.
• Gather requirements from Tax, Engineering, and Product teams and translate into tax-system specifications for Vertex CoE.
• Review design documents for tax-system implications and provide functional tax input to engineering.
• Define testing requirements and oversee end-to-end validation across unit, integration, and post-launch phases.
• Track tax data flow from source systems through Vertex to reporting and flag gaps or risks.
