Job summary

DoorDash in Mexico is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax Technology to lead tax platform and business projects, focusing on new verticals, merchants, and product launches. You will translate tax requirements into functional specifications and collaborate with Tax Engineering, TAP, and Product to deliver compliant tax features.

The role requires strong indirect tax expertise across US, Canada, Australia/NZ, and a track record in coordinating cross-functional teams, testing, and post-launch

Qualifications

• 6+ years in indirect tax or indirect tax technology.
• Experience with US sales and use tax; Canada GST/HST/PST; Australia/NZ GST.
• Experience configuring Vertex O Series or a similar tax engine.
• Ability to translate business and tax requirements into functional system specifications.
• Direct engagement with engineering teams on product development.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform, including new vertical launches.
• Gather and translate business and tax requirements into functional tax-system specs for Vertex CoE.
• Review BRDs, PRDs, and TDDs for tax implications and provide feedback to engineering.
• Define testing requirements and oversee unit, integration, E2E, and post-launch validations.
• Trace tax data flow from upstream systems through Vertex to reporting, flag gaps or risks.
• Validate readiness for production releases and document post-launch learnings.
• Serve as a bridge between non-tax tech stakeholders and tax technology teams.
• Develop and mentor offshore team with QA checkpoints and knowledge transfer.
