Qualifications

• 6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• Experience with US sales and use tax and Canada GST/HST/PST, plus Australia & NZ GST.
• Experience implementing or configuring Vertex O Series or similar tax engine.
• Ability to translate business and tax requirements into functional system specifications.
• Ability to engage with engineering teams on product development.
• Project management experience with project charters, plans, milestones, and RAID logs.
• Proficient with productivity tools (Microsoft Office; Google Workspace).
• Experience using AI tools daily to enhance processes and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Senior Manager of the Tax Calculation Platform & Mx Operations and lead tax platform and business projects.
• Partner with Tax Engineering, Tax Advisory & Planning, Tax Product, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into tax-system functional requirements.
• Review BRDs, PRDs, and TDDs for tax-system implications and provide functional tax expertise back to Tax Engineering.
• Define testing requirements and oversee validations across unit, integration, E2E, shadow, and post-launch.
• Trace tax-relevant data from upstream systems through Vertex to downstream reporting and flag gaps or risks.
• Validate operational and system readiness for production releases and document post-launch lessons learned.
• Serve as a bridge between non-tax tech stakeholders and the technical tax technology teams.
• Lead and develop the offshore team, allocating workload and ensuring QA checkpoints.
