Job summary

DoorDash Mexico is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax Technology to lead tax platform projects, focusing on new verticals, merchants, and product launches. This role sits at the intersection of tax, product, and engineering, ensuring requirements translate into live capabilities on the DoorDash platform.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• Experience in US sales and use tax, Canada GST/HST/PST, and Australia/NZ GST for food & beverage and retail contexts.
• Experience implementing or configuring Vertex O Series or equivalent tax engine.
• Translate business and tax requirements into functional system requirements; review technical/design docs.
• Direct engagement with engineering teams on product development.
• Project management experience and creating project charters, plans and RAID logs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Sheets/Docs/Slides.
• Experience using API testing tools like Postman/SOAP UI; reading XML/JSON logs.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform, including new verticals and product launches.
• Gather requirements from TAP, Tax Product, and stakeholders and translate into functional requirements for Vertex CoE.
• Review BRDs, PRDs, and TDDs for tax implications and provide expertise to Engineering.
• Define testing requirements and oversee unit, integration, E2E, shadow, and post-launch tests.
• Trace tax data flow from upstream systems through Vertex to downstream reporting; flag gaps.
• Validate readiness for production releases and document post-launch lessons learned.
• Serve as a bridge between non-tax tech stakeholders and tax technology teams; lead offshore team.
• Lead and develop the offshore team, allocating workload and establishing QA checkpoints.
