A prestigious international organization in Brindisi is seeking a Transport Assistant to oversee the maintenance of a vehicle fleet. You will assist in contract management and perform physical inspections to ensure operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in transport operations, strong organizational skills, and a High School diploma. TRANSPORT ASSISTANT, G6
Organization: United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), Brindisi, Italy. Part of the 3R (Return, Refurbishment, Reuse) Program Team of the Supply Chain Service. Reports to the Logistics Officer/3R Project Manager.
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in motor, heavy duty and engineering equipment or transport operations. Experience supervising or managing a motor, heavy duty and engineering equipment workshop or equivalent is desirable. Experience in procurement, contract management or transport planning is desirable.
Working languages: English and French. For this job opening, English is required. Minimum language levels per UN framework: Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking – UN Level II in English.
Competency-based interview will be used to evaluate qualified candidates.
This position is open for recruitment for an initial period of one year with possible extension, subject to funds. Appointment is fixed-term and may be renewed depending on funding and mandate existence.
