This role involves managing the development of R&D products for high-profile customers in the data center cooling sector. The successful candidate will lead product design and collaborate with various departments, ensuring high performance and innovation. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Energy Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/chiller projects are required. Travel between the Italian HQ and a production facility in Slovakia may be necessary.

We are currently seeking a Thermodynamic Engineer to join our dynamic team in Piove di Sacco (PD)!

Vertiv is looking for a Thermodynamic HVAC/chiller Engineer to be part of the Thermal Management mechanical Design team within the R&D Department ciòbased in Piove di Sacco (PD) - Italy. He/She will be mainly focused on the Chiller products.

What kind of work will you be doingClase?

• To manage the development of new R&D products in the data center cooling sector for high profile and well-known global datacenter customers.
• Deliver a fast and customer focused response on NPDI projects, where a new solution is based on an existing and well proven platform.
• Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high performance, cost effective design and market leading innovation.
• To lead the design of new products or re-engineer existing ones, collaborating with, Marketing, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the customer’s needs.
• To approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material).
• To meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs.
• To analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility.
• Availability to travel on request between the Italian HQ (base) and a production facility in Slovakia.
• A good level of experience in the HVAC sector with particularly good knowledge of Thermodynamics and refrigeration.

What will make you successful?

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Energy Engineering is required.
• At least 3-5 years of previous working experience on similar projects, ideally in the HVAC/chiller sector.
