What will you do as a Test Architect?

As a Test Architect, you’ll lead the development of automated tests and qualification tools. You’ll design and implement smart testing strategies, optimize processes, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and continuous improvement. By mentoring junior engineers and acting as a sparring partner for customers, you’ll help raise the bar for quality and innovation.

Your responsibilities as a Test Architect:

• Oversee the entire testing architecture/strategies, process from planning to execution, developing automated test capabilities, selecting tools, and defining processes for efficient and effective testing.
• Write software (C++, C, Python) for objective, reproducible and maintainable automated tests and develop tools for qualification and integration.
• Explore different solution approaches to achieve the best result.
• Design, implement and optimise chosen solutions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in an international, multidisciplinary and Agile environment.
• Review code and mentor junior engineers.
• Share your expertise to elevate the team, quality and processes.
• Act as advisor and sparring partner for customers and stakeholders, inspiring others to strive for quality.

What do you bring as a Test Architect?

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems or similar.
• At least 7 years of experience in software development with Python and C/C++ in the high‑tech domain.
• Capability to define and oversee the complete test architecture and strategy, ensuring consistency and quality from planning to execution.
• Background in software development/automation and experience with Object‑Oriented programming and development of test frameworks for complex embedded systems.
• Preferably experience with end‑to‑end test automation, continuous integration and setting up and maintaining ROBOT test framework.
• Proven experience with various testing techniques, solid knowledge of higher‑level testing (system integration, component testing), and familiarity with BDD, keyword‑driven testing, data‑driven testing, model‑based testing and property‑based testing.
• Team player, solution‑oriented and proactive.
• Motivation to continuously improve yourself and develop new skills.
• Good command of English and preferably Dutch language.
