We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our international team. The ideal candidate will leverage a strong background in both tax consulting and in‑house corporate tax environments to manage complex global tax matters, drive strategic planning, and ensure compliance across our multinational operations. This role is crucial for managing tax risk, optimising our global tax structure, and acting as a key advisor to senior leadership on commercial initiatives.

Here is a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:

Strategic Tax Planning and Advisory

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of global tax planning strategies to optimise the company’s worldwide tax position, focusing on international corporate tax, transfer pricing, and M&A activities.
• Provide proactive, commercially‑focused tax advice to business units, finance, legal, and operational teams on cross‑border transactions, new market entries, supply chain changes, and intellectual property structuring.
• Analyse the tax impact of proposed business and legislative changes, developing strategies to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.

Tax Compliance and Reporting:

• Oversee the accurate and timely preparation and review of international tax compliance requirements (e.g. CFC regulations) and ensure local regulatory filings are met across relevant jurisdictions.
• Manage the quarterly and annual tax provision process (ASC 740/IAS 12) for international operations, including effective tax rate (ETR) forecasting and analysis of tax accounts.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls and documentation processes for all international tax matters to ensure regulatory compliance and facilitate successful audits.

Tax Audit and Controversy

• Manage and coordinate responses to tax audits and inquiries from global tax authorities, including complex controversies related to transfer pricing and cross‑border issues.
• Develop strong working relationships with external tax advisors and local government agencies to ensure favourable outcomes during disputes.

Leadership and Team Development

• Mentor, coach, and develop junior and mid‑level tax professionals, fostering a high‑performance, collaborative team environment.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors, ensuring high‑quality, cost‑effective service delivery.

The type of person we are looking for:

• 8+ years of progressive tax experience, with a significant focus on international and corporate tax matters.
• Proven experience in a major public accounting firm (Big Four or top‑tier consulting) combined with substantial in‑house experience in a multinational, structured corporate environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Taxation (MST) is a plus.
• Professional certification required (e.g. CPA, Enrolled Agent, Tax Advisor/CTA or equivalent international qualification).
• Expert knowledge of international tax regimes and concepts (e.g. BEPS 2.0, Pillar Two, transfer pricing principles, foreign tax credits, inbound/outbound structures, etc.).
• Strong technical proficiency with tax accounting principles (ASC 740/IAS 12).
• Fluent in English and Italian (written and verbal).
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively translate complex tax concepts into actionable business insights for non‑tax stakeholders, including senior management.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve complex, ambiguous tax problems with practical and business‑oriented solutions.
• Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple international projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• High level of integrity, professional judgment, and executive presence.
