Overview
The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join the Italian Tax group (Bologna HQ). The Tax group strives to stay at the forefront of global tax legislation and utilize tax technology to enhance efficiencies and automation. The Senior Tax Analyst will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager and play a vital role in the Company’s tax compliance.
Responsibilities
- For each Italian Legal Entity: supported by the Company’s Tax advisors, be responsible for the accurate preparation/filing of the Income Tax Return (Unico) and consolidated Tax Return (CNM).
- Assist with the preparation, analysis, and review of the year-end income tax provision as it relates to statutory taxes for assigned subsidiaries and various computations.
- Assist with the preparation, analysis, and review of the year-end income tax provision as it relates to US taxes for assigned subsidiaries and various computations.
- Assist with development and execution of moderately complex tax planning strategies and projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups within the Company and with external consultants as needed to solve tax-related issues.
- Maintain a calendar of due dates for international tax compliance and reporting tasks.
- Support the Italian Tax team in preparing/reviewing VAT/Indirect Tax filings.
- Prepare/review all Direct Tax filings and withholding tax returns.
- Assist with Italian payroll tax compliance.
- Assist with Italian tax audit inquiries and provide general support for Domestic Tax compliance as needed for all Italian business.
- Assist Audit and Internal Controls support, handling audit queries (internal and external), prepare audit and reconciliation schedules, support STAT FS and Consolidated STAT FS for the Tax portion, and liaise with external auditors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups within the Company and with external consultants as needed to ensure the identification and realization of tax benefits (e.g., R&D, Capex, Industria 4.0).
Qualifications
- Business and Accounting education according to Italian accounting standards.
- Fluency in Italian and English is a must for this role.
- Experience in an audit environment or in a multinational organization with some years of finance/accounting experience.
- Experience with Oracle ERP accounting or any other ERP system.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and project management abilities.
