We are looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join our Design Center for Drug Delivery Systems in Milan (IT).

Role Introduction

  • Be part of the Drug Delivery System (DDS) team, an experienced and growing group of medical device engineers leading the development of proprietary devices for Stevanato Group.
  • Work in a fast-paced, international, and multi-disciplinary environment where good ideas can be transformed into real products.
  • Engage in the mechanical development of drug delivery devices.
  • Interpret product development holistically, managing early concept development, CAD modeling, material selection, tolerance analysis, supplier interactions, test method definition, and industrialization activities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the mechanical development of systems or sub-systems in drug delivery devices.
  • Participate in all development stages, from concept definition to design reviews, prototyping, and design transfer to manufacturing.
  • Coordinate engineering resources from external design agencies in a co-development environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in end-to-end product development, from early design to mass production, in heavily regulated markets (Medical, Automotive, Aerospace).
  • At least 5 years of experience with plastic component and mechanism design.
  • Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, including design for manufacturing, material selection, design for assembly, and tolerance analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical modeling and simulation (structural and kinematic analysis, FEA).
  • Proficiency in CREO / SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction processes.
  • Knowledge of risk analysis techniques such as FMEA and Fault Tree Analysis.
  • Experience in coordinating small engineering teams or external consultants.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical devices and drug delivery systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards like ISO 13485, ISO 11608, ISO 10993, ISO 14971, and FDA / EMEA guidelines.
