About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Back-End Developer to join our Trading Engineering team. You will be responsible for designing and optimising high-performance, low-latency back-end systems that power Hercle’s trading infrastructure. Your work will directly support mission-critical services that run entirely in-memory, requiring expertise in concurrency, memory management, and system optimization.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-frequency trading environments and has strong experience in building scalable, distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance back-end services in C# / .NET
• Build APIs, services, and real-time pipelines for trading environments
• Optimize system performance in low-latency, high-throughput systems
• Manage concurrency and memory in in-memory data systems (no DB reliance)
• Collaborate closely with trading, infrastructure, and product teams
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers
• Improve CI / CD pipelines and contribute to infrastructure automation

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience in C# / .NET development

Strong background in concurrent programming (multithreading, synchronization, distributed systems)

Proven experience with low-level memory management

Academic or professional experience in C or C++ (minimum 2 years)

Solid understanding of performance optimization in trading or real-time systems

Strong grasp of software design patterns and system architecture

Familiarity with databases (SQL / NoSQL) though most of our systems are in-memory

Experience with version control (Git), CI / CD, and testing frameworks

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership of complex systems
