Component Repair and Overhaul Production Manager

As Component Repair and Overhaul Production Manager, you will provide guidance and support to supervisors and operators in the assigned area, proactively promoting EHS culture, driving safety initiatives, and managing the Service shop to achieve SQDC targets. You will manage capacity allocation and oversee production execution to achieve daily targets across various production areas (military and civil / industrial components), ensuring reliability and consistency.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Promote and develop proactively EHS culture, driving safety initiatives in the shop and in the offices
  • Manage the Service shop in order to reach defined targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost for component repair and overhaul businesses
  • Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards, contributing towards strategy and policy development and set department objectives / KPIs
  • Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long‑term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy
  • Drive complex cross‑functional projects, being responsible for time schedule accomplishment and being in charge to meet project milestones and target granting the respect of the assigned budget
  • Drive initiatives and mid‑long term training plan, in cooperation with Quality System organization, to ensure people skills development across the CRO workstations to better drive productivity plan
  • Cooperate with Quality organization in the integration of process requirements and procedures establishment to meet Service target
  • Directly support and supervise regular shop floor activities. Give technical support to the team, solve problems to ensure that production teams can meet standards and performance goals and take short term decision to support in scheduling resources, facilitating the flow of materials to meet customer needs
  • Manage production labor constraints, implementing appropriate actions to adapt capacity. Work across business functions and engage multiple stakeholders as required
  • Use judgment and have ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes
  • Establish control plans, daily standard work and visual management around KPIs in the shop and lead KPI measurement, root cause analysis and corrective actioning, identify leading indicators to drive performance
  • Provide ongoing supervision and counseling for employees, guiding them in current positions and assisting their development and training
  • Foster a "candor and transparency" culture aimed to sustain a trustful environment
  • Lead, work in, and promote team‑based business that focuses on providing specialized, quick turnaround repair services to internal / external customers
  • Drive and be part of Lean transformation journey and lead activities to promote manufacturing improvements and cost reduction. Advocate Lean culture and attitude to all functions within the cells
  • Provide guidance and coaching in problem solving in line with FLIGHT DECK fundamentals, supporting the production team to develop a problem solving at point of value to achieve improvement of safety, quality, shop productivity, inventory optimization, on time delivery and product cost‑out
Qualification / Requirements
  • Master's Engineering Degree
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Knowledgable in conventional machining (turning, milling, grinding) special processes weldings / coatings) and measurement systems
  • Previous experience in manufacturing leadership position (production, manufacturing, planning and execution management)
  • Technical background, deep knowledge in production planning and management, shopfloor activities / operations and production control in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in leading large shop operations team (counting over 50 operators)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects and complex initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex team management and team building attitude
  • Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion and attention to details
  • Ability to manage, coach and develop blue collars and shop Supervisors team
  • Fluent both Italian and English
  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
