A global space manufacturer seeks a Project Assembly, Integration and Test Operations Manager in the Greater Rome Metropolitan Area. This role involves leading AIT operations, coordinating teams, and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met. Candidates should have a degree in engineering and extensive experience in the Assembly, Integration and Test environment, with fluency in English required. This full-time position supports aviation and aerospace projects and may require travel for up to 2-3 months.

We are looking for a Project Assembly, Integration and Test Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Primary link between the AIT Department and the PMO of the specific program assigned.
• Coordinate necessary staffing of the activities and lead the effort day‑to‑day to ensure that program milestones are achieved on time and within the budget.
• Lead a team with competencies in all AIT fields, from 4–5 people to over 20 people, depending on the program size and maturity.
• Manage the day‑to‑day activities in AIT.
• Schedule, cost plan, and report to Program Management and to own hierarchy.
• Liaise with other company entities.
• Liaise with the final customer during planned major reviews and outstanding NRBs or exceptional meetings.
• Prepare offer for the AIT Activities part: drafting of WPDs and budgets in Hours and Non‑Labor, coordinate feasibility exercises with respect to the proposed architecture, commit to the budget proposed in the execution phase.
• Coordinate Launch Campaign satellite activities as SPM (Satellite Preparation Manager).

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years of experience within the Assembly, Integration and Test environment, with a preference for the preparation and execution of complex system tests (e.g. T/VAC, EMC, Integrated System / Subsystem Tests).
• Flight Hardware Testing: environmental tests, integrated system/subsystem tests.
• System Engineering.
• Depending on program scope, availability to travel abroad within Europe and to potential Launch Sites (French Guyana, USA, Russia) for periods up to 2–3 months.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; fluency in French is an asset.
