What you’ll do

• Design & manage cloud-based database solutions, primarily on AWS RDS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server), with exposure to GCP, Azure, or OCI as a plus.
• Migrate & automate databases between on-premises and cloud, enhancing replication and automating migration processes.
• Integrate & share data between databases and external systems for analytics and reporting, leveraging tools such as AWS DMS, Snowflake, and Matillion.
• Optimize performance to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of cloud database solutions.
• Secure & comply with best practices and regulations (GDPR, ISO 27001), implementing encryption, IAM policies, and network segmentation.
• Prepare & execute robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Monitor & troubleshoot database performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

What you’ll need

• At least three years of solid experience in database administration on mission-critical systems.
• Strong expertise in managing and optimizing relational databases (OracleDB, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server).
• Deep understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, indexing, and SQL optimization.
• Knowledge of backup, restore, migration between On-Premise / Cloud (DataPump, pgDump).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex database environments.
• Willingness to learn and adopt cloud-based database solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI) — prior cloud experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Open mindset, adaptability, and strong motivation to evolve towards cloud-native architectures and DevOps practices.

What’s nice to have

• Good understanding of database security principles and compliance best practices.
• Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
• Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to support automation and monitoring.
• Previous experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI).
• Familiarity with cloud-based database services and migration tools (DMS).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Exposure to advanced Oracle features (Exadata, Autonomous Database, Oracle GoldenGate).
• Cloud certifications are appreciated but not required.
