Job Description

The Group Advanced analytics and Automation Solutions Unit is in charge of driving the execution of key Advanced Analytics projects at Group level, related both to AI-driven automation and AI recommendations/predictions, and support local BUs, where needed, to implement local projects; the unit is also responsible for designing, implementing and continuously improving the library of central shared analytics / automation services available for the BUs through a central platform.

Natural language processing (NLP) & Large Language Models (LLM) Data Scientist, in charge of designing, developing, continuously improving and managing, in collaboration with the various IT and internal structures, both the Python-based library of re-usable text processing algorithms, including data extraction and text classification, and the new LLM/LMM based algorithms. The ideal candidate should have around 1-3 years of professional experience, be familiar with algorithms, Machine Learning model development, Generative AI and hands-on experience with python (possibly also with AWS environment and tools - nice-to-have). Responsibilities
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse business requirements and design robust and scalable solutions
  • You will develop, test, and maintain high-quality Python code for various applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
  • You will implement and optimize algorithms to solve complex problems, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of ML and AI (including generative one)
  • You will work closely with DevOps teams and the Digital Factory to deploy and manage applications on AWS infrastructure
  • You will participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and knowledge sharing within the team
  • You will troubleshoot and debug applications to identify and fix issues promptly
  • You will stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve development processes
Requirements
  • Degree in scientific disciplines (mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics)
  • Strong problem-solving skills (analysis of complex problems and structuring of solutions), creativity and determination
  • Excellent analytical and deductive skills, familiar with the design and evaluation of algorithms
  • Proven experience on Python Developer with 1-3 years of hands‑on development experience
  • Proven experience as Data Scientist (at least 1 year) on text analytics use cases
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS (Amazon Web Services)
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker
  • Solid understanding of version control systems, preferably Git
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English (B2)
  • Excellent propensity to work in a team, operational autonomy, proactivity, high level of commitment and result / output orientation
