Overview
The incumbent, reporting to the Export Manager, will be responsible for overseeing all export-related operations for Animal Health products for achieving ambitious sales targets. This role involves deep customer engagement, strong technical knowledge of products, account development, and strategic planning. This role involves developing export strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance in target markets, managing relationships with distributors, overseeing logistics and documentation, and driving sales growth internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets and revenue objectives
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities (new accounts, new customers).
- Grow existing accounts by expanding product usage, increasing share-of-wallet, and adding complementary products.
- Identify and assess target export markets; conduct market research, competitor analysis.
- Ensure that all products comply with the regulatory, certification, and quality requirements of target countries
- Manage distributor / partner relationships abroad
- Monitor export performance: sales targets, financials, margins, costs, and adjust strategy as needed. Maintain a territory or account plan that includes targets, strategies, action steps.
- Represent company in trade shows, veterinary / animal health industry events
- Liaise with other teams/functions like Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Quality to ensure product availability, compliance, promotional materials etc.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Relevant degree (e.g. Veterinary Science, Animal Health, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field); international trade qualification is a plus.
- Several years (often 3+ years) of successful sales experience, ideally in the animal health / veterinary / livestock / feed or diagnostics sectors.
- Strong knowledge of international regulatory frameworks for animal health products (import/export laws, veterinary certifications, GMP/GDP standards etc.).
- Experience with export documentation, customs procedures, shipping logistics, freight management.
- Excellent negotiation, commercial acumen and relationship management skills. Able to understand customer needs and propose solutions.
- Ability to analyze markets, competitor behavior, price structures and regulatory barriers.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to interact with international partners.
- High organizational ability; Ability to plan strategically, organize workload, able to handle deadlines, changing requirements, etc.
- Proficiency in relevant software/tools (e.g. MS Office)
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
