Finance Project Manager

Purpose of the job:

The Project Controller is responsible for the financial management and control of a project portfolio.

At this level, he/she operates with full autonomy on large projects and may supervise a team of project controllers for a portfolio of large and complex projects.

Act as the financial support and representative for the Project Manager. Guarantee the financial transparency of the project.

Key accountabilities

  • Ensure project accounting complies with company guidelines.
  • Organise project reviews from start to end of each contract. Manage controlling and financial reporting of projects according to internal control rules.
  • Ensure the financial situation reported in Sector Project Reviews is accurate and sincere, respecting Alstom rules.
  • Support the Project Manager and other project functions as a finance partner.
  • Prepare, in conjunction with the project team, the project review content and periodic financial presentations.
  • Understand project documents and systems, actively managing financial implications arising from them.
  • Produce all required financial project reports (forecast cash flow, revenue, gross margin, etc.).
  • Ensure all financial processes and internal controls, including DoA, are implemented, robust, and compliant.
  • Establish onshore projects in conjunction with the local finance team.
  • Control and maintain full knowledge of all financial movements within the project scope, ensuring accurate reporting. Reconcile project results within accounts and with respect to balance sheet positions.
  • Manage interfaces with other expert functions such as tax, treasury, insurance, and contract management.
  • Ensure total consistency of all claims in project financials.
  • Assess risks and opportunities, supporting correct risk recognition, valuation, and reporting.
  • Provide management with reliable financial data for decision-making.
  • Ad-hoc reporting on projects, including investigations of issues.
  • Ensure consistency with project teams (Planner, Sourcing, etc.).
  • Mandatory:
  • Bachelor's degree in a finance-related field (accounting, finance, business administration, economics).

Mandatory experience:

  • 6-8 years in controlling large multinational construction projects (Senior PC).
  • Project accounting.
  • Controlling in large multinational construction projects.
  • Contract management experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel and spreadsheet report preparation.
  • Analytical skills and forecasting ability.
  • Experience with ERPs.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
