About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Export Sea Freight Manager to oversee and optimize all export sea freight operations from our Florence office. The ideal candidate will manage international shipping activities, coordinate with carriers and clients, ensure compliance with global trade regulations, and lead a dedicated operations team to deliver top-quality logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all export sea freight operations from Italy to international markets.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities.
• Ensure all export documentation (B / L, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.) is accurate and compliant.
• Negotiate rates and service contracts with shipping lines and agents.
• Monitor shipment schedules, resolve operational issues, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Coordinate closely with internal sales, procurement, and logistics teams.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of export coordinators.
• Stay updated on customs regulations, INCOTERMS, and maritime transport trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in export sea freight operations or freight forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping, export documentation, and customs regulations.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities (both written and verbal).
• Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office.
• Fluent in Italian and English; other languages a plus.
