The Contract Manager mission will be to support the Legal team during the development and execution of the project(s). The person will be the key interface for all commercial, contractual and financial aspects of the contract(s) during their execution.
Responsibilities
- Interface with all internal departments to ensure compliance with contract obligations, company policies and applicable laws
- Identify contract risks and opportunities to protect and enhance project performance
- Proactively develop and share adequate contract management strategies
- Administer project communications, negotiate contract amendments, variation orders and settlement agreements
- Manage contract claims, coordinate with the Legal Team in case of dispute
- Support other functions in the negotiation of contracts with clients and suppliers/subcontractors
- Drive “on time” payment from customers
- Set‑up and continuously improve NHOA processes and standards
Requirements
Education
The Contract Manager must have a Law degree and 5‑8 years of experience as contract manager or legal counsel in the legal department of an energy or construction company or international law firm.
Skills
- Fluent in English and Italian, other languages will be a distinct advantage
- Proven track record in contract management, claims management for engineering/construction projects, dispute resolution, contract negotiation
- Familiarity with large sized EPC projects and standard forms of project contracts (e.g. FIDIC)
- Appetency for technical matters and the renewable energy sector
- Ability to find workable solutions to complex legal and technical questions
- Ambitious, enthusiastic, hardworking
- Curious by nature
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and maintain output under pressure
- Flexible to travel for work
- Incisive thinker who moves fast and likes to get things done. Able to make and stick to tough decisions, even when unpopular
- Gravitas and credibility to gain the confidence of executives inside and outside NHOA
