Job summary
A leading technology and lighting firm is seeking a Technical Designer to create detailed system designs for applications in lighting. You will prepare high-level schematics and collaborate with technical teams to ensure cost-effective solutions. Proficiency in software like AutoCAD and knowledge of ELV design are essential. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure and possesses strong time management skills. This position is crucial for effective design and execution in lighting projects.
Qualifications
- Proficient in drawing software like AutoCAD and BIM/Revit.
- Experience in ELV design for LMS or similar industry.
- Knowledge of standards and norms for installation and drawings.
- Strong ability to perform under pressure and deliver results.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed system designs for applications.
- Prepare high-level schematics and drawings of proposed solutions.
- Work with technical SMEs for feasibility and cost-effective designs.
- Analyze lighting designs to apply necessary building blocks.
- Document architecture including data sheets and drawings.
- Record time spent on designs using internal tools.
Skills
This role is responsible for creating detailed system design for a given application. Responsible for preparing high level schematics and drawings of the proposed solution.
- Interpret and convert the product visualization into technical specifications.
- Responsible for all Signify and 3rd party technical specification of products and service, including Scope of Works for installers.
- Works together with the technical SME(s), Proposal Manager, procurement, Lighting design and internal team for feasibility and design to cost.
- Analyzes & understands the lighting design to apply the needed system building blocks.
- Prepares lighting control designs for our own and 3rd party equipment if needed.
- Prepares documentation of the architecture: data sheets, drawings etc. within planned / agreed timelines.
- Record time spend on designs within the Task through internal tool (SAP cloud).
- Creates subsets of the proposals including descriptions and illustrations where necessary to show the effect of the lighting controls scheme proposed.
- Calculates execution hours based on the project scope and system design for input by the Proposal Manager in the Business Case.
- Help S&S procurement team evaluate profiles, capabilities of 3rd party vendors, suppliers in providing suitable solution for various segments.
