Job summary
A leading railway technology company is seeking an experienced technical writer based in Manchester to produce and revise technical documentation for safety equipment. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in technical writing, a background in engineering, and proficiency in Adobe FrameMaker. The role allows for up to 40% remote work, with a commitment to producing high-quality and clear documentation.
Qualifications
- Native English speaker with excellent command of spelling, punctuation, grammar and syntax.
- At least four years of technical writing experience in a multi-disciplined product or project-driven technology business.
- Ability to discuss technical issues with hardware engineers.
Responsibilities
- Research, write and illustrate technical product support material including manuals.
- Manage a versioning system (with SmartGit or Flare).
- Transcribe technical content into clear, concise text.
