General Sales Manager – Essex (Basildon, Brentwood & Southend)

Location: Basildon, Essex

Salary: £45,000 base + uncapped commission (OTE £80,000)

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Noble Recruiting is working with a leading automotive business in Essex to recruit a dynamic and experienced General Sales Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven sales leader to oversee performance across Basildon, Brentwood and Southend sites. You’ll be responsible for maximising vehicle sales, motivating your team of Sales Executives, and delivering outstanding customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sales of new and used vehicles to achieve monthly and annual targets.
  • Promote and sell service plans and finance products.
  • Manage and motivate a team of Sales Executives across multiple sites.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage a diary system efficiently.
  • Work closely with the Service Department to meet customer needs.
  • Plan and host off‑site sales and promotional events.
  • Ensure all sales activity meets compliance and brand standards.
About You

You’ll be a confident and experienced Sales Manager within the automotive industry, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and leading successful teams.

Skills and Experience Required
  • Previous experience as a General Sales Manager or senior automotive sales role.
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage a multi‑site sales team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and results‑driven attitude.
  • Full UK driving licence (held for at least one year).
Hours of Work
  • Monday to Friday: 9.00 am – 6.00 pm
  • Saturday: 8.30 am – 5.30 pm (day off in lieu during the week)
  • Sunday/Bank Holidays: 10.00 am – 4.00 pm (every other)
