We invite trained Nursing Associates to join our Trust in Adult Acute inpatient services. As a Nursing Associate you will deliver high quality, safe, person‑centred care for people with mental health challenges and/or learning disabilities, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

As an NMC‑registered practitioner you will report to a Registered Nurse, work with minimal supervision, delegate responsibilities, and supervise junior staff, student nurses and trainee Nursing Associates.

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with mental health needs and/or learning disabilities, ensuring their physical, emotional and social well‑being.
• Assist in the development and implementation of personalised care plans in collaboration with service users, families and the wider care team.
• Monitor and record physical and mental health conditions, escalating concerns to the registered nurse or clinical lead as necessary.
• Support therapeutic interventions such as group activities, behavioural therapies and life‑skills training.
• Identify risks using contemporary assessment tools to improve safety and quality of care.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with service users, families, and carers and maintain open, professional communication within the multidisciplinary team.
• Advocate for the needs and preferences of service users, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies, including mental capacity assessment, DOLS and Prevent principles; raise concerns and report safeguarding issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation in line with Trust policies and professional standards.
• Participate in training, supervision and reflective practice to support personal and professional development.
• Contribute to the education and training of service users, families and staff; act as a role model for best practices in care delivery.
• Provide supervision and support to newly qualified staff, student nurses, trainee Nursing Associates and healthcare assistants.
• Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

• NMC registration as a Nursing Associate.
• Experience working in mental health and/or learning disability settings.
• Good understanding of local and national guidance, protocols and policies for mental health care.
• Capability to supervise and develop junior staff.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and person‑centred care skills.
