The Drama department has an excellent reputation and a history of excellence in examinations and performance. The school offers a KS3 Performing Arts Scholarship programme, where one class in each year receives additional Music and Drama lessons, theatre visits and workshops. Our school's theatre company, Ilex, has performed at Reading Rep, The Watermans Theatre and at The National Theatre, as winners of the annual NT Connections festival. We also launched a KS3 theatre company in 2024: Ilex Juniors. Both theatre companies have productions in the works: Ilex will be performing Britney's Lock at The Lyric, Hammersmith in April and Ilex Juniors will offer a night of Shakespeare (as never seen before) in July. Our alumni students, many of whom have very successful careers in the arts, often come back to support and encourage the next generation at Hollyfield. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is committed to inspiring and motivating students through their innovative and engaging teaching.
