Housekeeping Assistant

Working 5 days over 7, including weekends, from 7am to 3pm

Brainkind is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. Our centres and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to help individuals regain lost skills, treating a range of brain injuries caused by trauma, illness, substance abuse, and more. To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the service, including laundry duties.

This role carries no line management responsibilities but involves working alongside and supporting volunteers.

No formal qualifications necessary.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow policies, procedures, and behavioural frameworks
• Understanding of COSHH and Health & Safety Regulations

No budget responsibilities but expected to manage costs within limits. Responsible for understanding personal health and safety responsibilities and COSHH requirements.

• Clean all areas as per schedules; manage laundry following supervisor guidance
• Ensure safety of all users, staff, volunteers, and visitors
• Store and use chemicals and equipment safely, adhering to COSHH and safety standards
• Operate various cleaning equipment, report repairs or replenishments
• Record required information accurately
• Maintain compliance with national and local cleaning standards
• Support the safe operation of the service, uphold confidentiality, and undertake additional reasonable tasks
