Job summary
A healthcare trust in the UK is looking for a qualified Continence Staff Nurse to manage catheter care and deliver specialist services in both community and clinical settings. The role requires an active NMC registration and experience in continence health promotion. The nurse will liaise between care settings and train other professionals, contributing to high-quality patient care. Applicants should possess a good understanding of clinical skills related to bowel health and a willingness to mentor others.
Qualifications
- Active registration with the NMC is mandatory.
- Experience in catheter care and continence health promotion is required.
- Competence in clinical skills related to continence, urology, and bowel health is essential.
Responsibilities
- Liaising between primary and secondary care settings.
- Management of treatments for catheter care.
- Delivering the Specialist Continence Service.
Skills
The Continence Staff Nurse is a qualified nurse with an active registration with the NMC and experience in catheter care, continence health promotion, continence needs assessment, and training other professionals and agencies in the area.
The role involves liaising between primary and secondary care settings and other agencies in the management of treatments for catheter care in both community and clinical settings. The Nurse will also be involved in the day-to-day delivery of the Specialist Continence Service.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Active registration with the NMC.
- Experience in catheter care and continence health promotion.
- Competence and confidence in a wide range of relevant clinical skills and knowledge related to continence, urology, and bowel health.
- Understanding of case management, desirable.
- Either a qualified mentor or willingness to undertake mentorship training soon.
