Job description

The Continence Staff Nurse is a qualified nurse with an active registration with the NMC and experience in catheter care, continence health promotion, continence needs assessment, and training other professionals and agencies in the area.

The role involves liaising between primary and secondary care settings and other agencies in the management of treatments for catheter care in both community and clinical settings. The Nurse will also be involved in the day-to-day delivery of the Specialist Continence Service.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Active registration with the NMC.
  • Experience in catheter care and continence health promotion.
  • Competence and confidence in a wide range of relevant clinical skills and knowledge related to continence, urology, and bowel health.
  • Understanding of case management, desirable.
  • Either a qualified mentor or willingness to undertake mentorship training soon.
