Job description
Men are dying too young – and it doesn’t have to be that way. Around the world, men are facing a health crisis: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and suicide. At Movember we’re on a mission to change the face of men’s health by making it easier for men to talk, act and live longer healthier lives. Every project, every campaign, every idea adds up to real change. You’ll be part of a purpose-fueled crew who believe making an impact and having fun should go hand in hand. Your mission is calling.
DO GOOD. Work for Movember.

Your Mo-Mission (should you choose to accept it):

Reporting to the Global Lead - Advocacy & Policy, you will direct the implementation of our EU advocacy and policy strategies – helping to build political will, strong alliances with civil society, shape public attitudes and create the necessary pressure to influence health systems.

You’ll be leading Movembers skills, expertise and capabilities in advocacy & policy within European Parliamentary bodies. You will also work alongside senior leaders skilled in research, media, mobilisation, supporter engagement, partnerships and partnerships to draw on your political nous and strategic background to fuel our engagement with key audiences and stakeholders that build political will for our advocacy focus areas.

You will be responsible for:

  • Operationalising and leading Movember’s advocacy and policy strategy in the EU.
  • Taking responsibility for the development and management of a local advocacy partnership strategy and support management of key relationships eg. health systems, governments, policy makers, research and clinical partners, industry associations, corporates and marketing partners. Including proactively engaging with Europe’s top politicians and NGOs to hold relationships that will change policy.
  • Working with our online harms team to influence regulation and policy to improve the experiences of young men online.
  • Leading and coordinating events and engagement of health professionals and health organisations to socialise and promote Movember policy agenda.
  • Producing submissions and policy briefs on topics relevant to health for government inquiries and agencies.
  • Partner with the Movember MarComms colleagues to develop public engagement and media strategies that drive and support policy change inline with our advocacy priorities.
  • Managing government relations and media relations consultants, ensuring they have clear briefs, which deliver against your local advocacy strategy on time and against budget.
  • Work as internal champion for advocacy and policy work, working to ensure colleagues in the policy and advocacy team across Movembers core six markets are aware of your work in the EU and you are learning from other markets as well as other departments.
No Moustache Required - but the following are:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in public policy, politics, political science or related disciplines or equivalent relatable experience.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and communicated regularly about activities.
  • 8+ years' experience in the development of policies, position statements and briefing papers or the leadership of advocacy campaigns with a policy focus within the EU. Experiencing in establishing collaborative relationships with EU bodies.
  • A well-versed public speaker who can adapt speaking opportunities to flex for a government or internal audience.
  • Experience working for an agency or leading agency partners.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent social research skills and ability to apply analysis and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply contemporary research principles and practices to your work.
  • Experience in adapting work to politically agile times and adapting to changing government priorities.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and take personal responsibility for leading others and prioritising and managing workload.
Not Mission Critical - but for extra bonus points:
  • Comprehensive understanding of health legislation and policy.
  • Experience working in online harms and tech regulation.
  • Experience in the community or charity sector, policy or advocacy, preferably within health (specifically in oncology).
GOOD CAUSE:

Working for Movember, you’ll help turn ideas (and moustaches) into millions for men’s health. Every bit we raise changes the face of men’s health by funding research, improving treatments, and supporting programs that help save lives.

We’re even shaping government policies on men’s health worldwide. By meeting directly with lawmakers, and helping them understand how more investment on men’s health benefits not just men, but all the communities they serve.

GOOD VIBES:

We love weekends. That’s why our Fridays finish early for nine months of the year. But we also love our office vibe. Because here, it always feels like something big is about to happen. Be it an office-wide surprise birthday party (with cake!) or an open invite for all to hit the pub.

Come the hairy season, the energy cranks up. We’re talking celebrity visits. Live stunts on-site for TV and radio. And when we hit a fundraising milestone, the office gong might even go off. But, for those who prefer calm, no probs: hybrid working means you work where you feel best.

GOOD CREW:

Spoiler alert: we’re a no-ego, all-impact crew. That means everyone gets a say, from new starters to those leading the charge. Collaboration over hierarchies, curiosity over rigid process. And it’s true across all our offices worldwide. We work as one, sharing expertise and celebrating wins. All in the name of making the biggest impact across the globe. United, we Mo.

We offer:

  • Hybrid/Flexible working – we offer our team a split of home and office working
  • 13 weeks paid Parental Leave and 6 weeks annual leave
  • Health Cash Plan – to support the costs of everyday healthcare needs (dental, optical, wellbeing)
  • An Employee Assistance Programme offering face to face counselling, plus legal and financial support
  • A fun stimulating and collaborating culture, with company events
  • Service awards after 3, 5 and 10 year
  • Committees to join – Culture team, Equity Diversity & Inclusion
  • Bike to work scheme
  • Half day Fridays for 9 months of the year

Being different is how we started. And it’s also helped us raise $1 billion for men’s health. So, we know the power of diverse experiences, skills and perspectives.

Movember is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community and workplace - a place where we can all be ourselves, and each have the equal opportunity to succeed and be recognised for our unique contribution. We value the experiences, skills and perspectives of all individuals and actively encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds. We make recruitment decisions based on applicants’ skills, experience and knowledge, ensuring all applicants are treated fairly.

Do you want to DO GOOD?

If so, we’d love to hear from you.
