CGI are on the hunt for a 4G Network Testing Expert, focusing primarily on RAN aspects and the interface between RAN and EPC (4G Core).

This role will require travelling to the Leatherhead, Bristol or Reading office at least once a month and, if required, travel to the US for 1-2 weeks per quarter. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

In this role you will be primarily responsible for validating the Ground-RAN sub-system and its integration with support of one/two other test analysts developing automated (primarily) and some manual tests where necessary.

This role will require dual role as Technical Test lead and Hands-on Senior Tester Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:
As Hands-on Senior Test Analyst:
Test Design:
o Reviewing Features and Tasks to build Test Scenarios and Test cases
o Identify Test cases and defining what test data (or other dependencies) are needed for test cases/scenarios.
o Noting the acceptance criteria and their formalisation into the automated testing language
o Writing and executing tests as needed

As Technical Test Lead:
o Planning, preparing and co-ordinating internal CGI integration and test campaigns/test planning with the CGI Test Team (1-2 Test Analysts) and development team members.
o Establishing and tracking the test progress in JIRA Kanban board and other Test tools as provided by the project and reporting progress to the CGI Project manager/Scrum Master and Customer IVV Test Manager.
o Co-ordinating with Customer Integration, Validation and Verification (IVV) team to support System Integration and Test campaigns as Test Lead.
o Demonstrating features to the customer as part of informal and formal acceptance/demonstration meetings
o Communication and co-ordination with CGI and Customer Solution architecture and development teams to iterate tests in a difficult problem space and maintain traceability from Features to tests.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Essential:
• In depth knowledge of 4G RAN protocol stack and flows between Core, RAN and UE covering all aspects and layers
• In depth knowledge of interfaces, protocols and flows between 4G Core and eNodeB
• Knowledge of Mobility Management (MME) and HSS (Home Subscriber Server) in 4G Core
• Knowledge of Radio resource scheduling and management

Desirable:
• Knowledge of NB-IoT
• Knowledge of 4G Core
• Knowledge of Satellite Communications concepts and NTN
• Test Automation using Robot Framework
