Oliver Carol Recruitment is working in partnership with a multinational manufacturing organisation that serves the food and consumer goods industries. Driven by product demand, our client is on a transformational journey, which includes, strengthening core business functions with additional head count and reinvestment back into the business with a number of Capex projects.
We have two vacancies for the Purchasing team, one being an immediate start, which is a newly created position and the other is a direct replacement.
We’re looking for someone who has experience and successful examples of managing both direct and indirect purchasing requirements that positively impact a company’s profits, supplier relations and customer satisfaction.
Main responsibilities:
- Source goods and services both in the UK and globally, whilst developing measures for cost savings in line with the business plan.
- Use skilled negotiation techniques, product and market knowledge to confidently negotiate the best supply agreements and achieve significant cost reductions.
- Identify suitable suppliers and manage tender processes, ensuring that there is sufficient understanding of requirements by all parties involved, in order to achieve the best and most cost effective solutions.
- Monitor supplier performance ensuring that suppliers continue to deliver to the agreed levels of cost and quality.
- Pro-actively develop the necessary market knowledge and contacts for new products and services by selectively speaking with and visiting suppliers to learn about new manufacturing processes and products.
We require you to be completely computer literate, specifically with Microsoft Office and able to use spreadsheet formulae and calculations and to produce accurate and articulate meeting and visit reports, tender documents and commercial correspondence.
