The Mental Health in Schools team is excited to announce that it is expanding it's workforce to include Higher level Teaching Assistants/Support workers.
In line with the government's priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the role of High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in the Mental Health in Schools Team (MHST) offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to early mental health interventions. This role bridges the educational and healthcare sectors, ensuring that mental health and emotional wellbeing are integrated into educational settings to benefit children and young people.
The HLTA will actively collaborate with Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) to support and deliver evidence-based mental health interventions and activities. This includes facilitating whole-school mental health approaches, leading group work, and providing targeted support for children, young people, and their families.
The service is running "Let's Talk MHST" information sessions for prospective candidates on Monday the 11th and Wednesday the 13th of August. The sessions will begin at 17:00 and are an opportunity to discover more about the service and its current expansion. To book onto either of these sessions pleaseemailrisecommunityoffer@covwarkpt.nhs.uk or call 07917504682 to request a link to the meeting.
