Job description
1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEN/SEND Focus)

Location: Birmingham South and surrounding areas

Salary: £95 – £105 per day (dependent on experience and role)

Contract: Full-time, long‑term with flexible supply options available for 2026

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 assistance to students with SEN (e.g., Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or physical disabilities).
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and "Now and Next" strategies.
  • Observe and record student progress, reporting back to teachers and SEN Coordinators.
  • Create a calm, nurturing environment that encourages confidence and social development.
Requirements
  • Proven experience supporting children with additional needs or strong passion for joining the SEN sector.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification preferred but not essential for entry‑level roles.
  • Patience, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
