A leading design and engineering consultancy in the UK seeks an Architectural Technician with expertise in the nuclear or defence sectors. You will play a key role in delivering high-value projects that meet stringent security and functional standards. The ideal candidate is ARC qualified and has strong skills in either concept design or technical delivery. This position offers a 6-month contract with opportunities to contribute to some of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects.

Job Title: Architectural Technician - Nuclear / Defence Bias
Location: London or Epsom
Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract
Rate: DoE (This role falls inside IR35)
We're recruiting for highly skilled architectural technicians to join one of the world's leading design and engineering consultancies. With a strong pipeline of secured work across the UK nuclear and defence landscape working on front-end design.
You'll be part of an expert, multidisciplinary team working on high-value defence facilities, secure government estates, and nuclear-grade installations. Whether you specialise in front-end concept design or technical delivery through RIBA Stage 3/4+, your expertise will directly support national capability and resilience.
We're looking for adaptable, detail-driven professionals who can operate effectively in secure, fast-paced environments. You'll be hands-on in delivering architecture that must meet exacting standards - functionally, securely, and with longevity in mind. Collaboration with engineers, security consultants, and project managers will be central to your role.
- ARC qualified architectural technician
- Strong capability in either concept design or technical delivery (RIBA Stage 3 onwards).
- A good understanding of the challenges that come from working in the defence sector
- Ability to get to the office ideally 2 days a week
