Job summary

A leading environmental conservation organization is seeking a Trading Supervisor for their Catering Team at the Wetland Centre. The successful candidate will lead operations, manage finances, and ensure high standards of food and customer service. Ideal applicants will have experience in catering and relevant qualifications. This permanent, full-time position requires 37.5 hours per week, including weekends.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trading Supervisor to join our Catering Team at Arundel Wetland Centre.

The successful applicant will support the Trading Manager to deliver an inspirational catering environment that consistently delivers a high standard of food that contributes to an excellent visitor experience. They will:

  • Optimize financial performance by review and management of KPI’s taking the appropriate action to increase profit, reduce waste and deploy resources effectively.
  • Actively work to minimize wastage with stock control measures and participate in stock handling through organizing deliveries and assisting with stock takes
  • Adhere to the WWTs cash handling procedures with effective use of the epos system
  • Promote the WWT where ever possible in order to drive membership sales.

This is a permanent, full-time position, requiring you to work 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, including weekends and bank holidays.

About You

To join as our Trading Supervisor you will:

  • be educated to a minimum of GCSE standard or equivalent
  • have a food hygiene qualification (level 2)
  • have experience gained in a catering environment and of a Food Safety Management System (FSMS)
  • have a proven track record in delivering, and exceeding, departmental targets
  • have a proven passion for leading a team and promoting great customer service
  • adapt quickly to different roles and have an eye for detail and achieving consistently high standards
